금오공과대학교(총장 곽호상)가 ‘2021 KIT Engineering Fair'를 개최했다.

금오공대 공학교육혁신센터(센터장 이희영) 주관으로 9일부터 양일간 교내 체육관에서 진행된 ‘2021 엔지니어링 페어’는 학생들의 창의적 아이디어를 바탕으로 구현된 다양한 캡스톤 프로젝트 활동 성과를 감상할 수 있는 전시의 장으로 마련되었다.
9일 열린 개막식에는 곽호상 금오공대 총장과 대학 본부보직자를 비롯해 김영식 국회의원(구미 을), 하대성 경상북도경제부지사, 장세용 구미시장 등 각계 인사들이 참석해 학생들의 아이디어 작품을 격려했다.
창의력 향상과 시스템 통합설계 능력을 갖춘 미래 공학기술 인력 양성을 위해 지난 2009년부터 이어져오고 있는 금오공대 엔지니어링 페어는 매년 캡스톤 프로젝트의 다양한 성과를 공유하고, 우수 작품에 대한 포상을 통해 창의적 종합설계의 성과 확산을 도모하고 있다.
올해 행사에서는 재정지원사업 지원을 통해 완성된 총 154팀이 다양한 아이디어 작품들을 선보였다.
이날 곽호상 총장은 개회사를 통해 “엔지니어링 페어는 지난 1년 동안 창의와 도전 정신으로 새로운 공학 작품을 구상, 설계하여 구현한 값진 노력의 결과물을 공개하는 자리”라며, “금오공대는 이러한 캡스톤 프로젝트를 비롯해 다양한 창의 활동으로 우수한 경쟁력을 갖춘 공학도를 양성하여 미래 인재로서의 제 역할을 다할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
