새로운 희망과 기대를 담은 2022년 새해가 밝았습니다.

임인년(壬寅年) 새해를 맞아 시민 여러분의 가정마다 건강과 행복이 가득하시고 소망하시는 모든 일들이 이루어지는 뜻깊은 한 해가 되시기를 진심으로 기원 드립니다.
아울러 지난 한 해 동안 문경시의회에 깊은 관심을 가지고 의정발전을 위하여 보내주신 아낌없는 성원에 감사드립니다.
지난 한 해는 우리 문경시민 뿐만 아니라 모든 국민들에게 참으로 고통스러웠던 한 해였습니다.
코로나19의 장기화로 소상공인과 기업체들은 심각한 경영 위기에 내몰렸고, 시민들도 일상생활을 제대로 영위할 수 없었습니다.
우리 문경시의회의 어깨는 한층 더 무거웠습니다. 어떻게 하면 우리 시민들에게 희망을 드릴 수 있을까, 추진되는 정책이 시민들에게 골고루 혜택이 돌아갈 수 있을까 치열하게 고민하고 집행부와 합의점을 도출할 수 있도록 노력했습니다.
새로운 2022년은 부디 호랑이의 기운으로 도약하는 한 해가 되기를 간절히 소망합니다. 어둠을 뚫고 다가오는 한줄기 빛처럼 모든 시민 여러분의 가슴에 희망이 번져나가는 새해가 되도록 우리 문경시의회 의원들은 모든 역량을 결집하여 나아가겠습니다.
존경하는 시민 여러분!
우리 8대 문경시의원들은 코로나19로 인한 시민들의 고충이 최소화될 수 있도록, 매력있고 감성적인 문화·관광도시를 조성하여 많은 분들이 찾아주시고 머물러주시는 문경시가 되도록 최선을 다할 것을 다짐하면서 아래와 같이 금년도 의정 운영 방향을 밝힙니다.
첫째, 코로나19로 인한 서민경제의 타격을 최소화하고 지역경제 활성화에 앞장서 나가겠습니다.
코로나19로 인해 재난 수준의 어려움을 겪고 있는 전통시장을 비롯한 지역 소상공인을 위한 지원 방안 마련에 최선을 다하겠습니다.
또한 기후 변화, 인구 고령화로 생존권을 위협받고 있는 우리 농?축산업을 살리기 위해 모든 의원들의 역량을 결집하겠습니다.
침체되어 있는 지역경제 활성화를 위한 대책 마련 및 장기적인 발전을 모색하기 위한 비전있는 의정활동을 전개해나가겠습니다.
둘째, 문경시민을 위해 존재하는 문경시의회임을 잊지 않고 책임있는 시민의 대변자가 되겠습니다.
문경시민의 이익을 위해서는 발벗고 나서며 우리 시민이 불이익을 받는 정책은 총력을 다해 저지하겠습니다.
각계각층의 다양한 의견과 조언에 귀 기울이고 「현장 중심 의정활동」으로 시민과 소통하며, 우리 지역의 현안과 작은 문제들을 소중히 여기는 시민의 대변자로서의 역할에 최선을 다하겠습니다.
셋째, 의정수행 능력을 함양하여 전문적이고 진취적인 의정활동을 펼치겠습니다.
2020년 12월 지방자치법 전면개정으로 지방의회의 자율성과 역량을 강화하기 위한 토대가 마련되었습니다.
우리 문경시의회는 의정자료 조사·연구 인력인 정책지원관을 도입하여 의회의 전문성과 생산성을 강화하겠습니다.
또한 주민조례발안제도를 시행하여 주민주권을 강화하고 주민의 희망을 현실화할 수 있도록 노력하겠습니다.
넷째, 집행부와의 관계를 정립하고 상생의 동반자로서 시민 행복을 위해 협심하는 의회가 되겠습니다.
행정의 낭비를 최소화하기 위해 불필요한 규제의 개선 및 지역사회 현안 해결에 적극적인 노력을 기울이겠습니다.
좋은 정책은 적극적으로 협조하고 미흡한 부분은 대안을 제시하여 균형과 견제를 바탕으로 한 상생의 동반자로서 관계를 더욱 공고히 하겠습니다.
시민의 행복을 위해 집행부와 공동의 책임을 지는 문경시의회가 되겠습니다.
존경하는 문경시민 여러분!
아직은 힘든 시기입니다만 이 어려움은 반드시 물러갈 것입니다. 코로나19는 반드시 종식될 것입니다.
그때까지 우리는 우리의 공동체를 지켜야 합니다. 지금까지 각자의 자리에서 최선을 다해주신 시민 여러분께 다시 한 번 깊은 경의를 표합니다.
정말 고맙습니다.

Our 8th Mungyeong City Councilmembers pledged to do their best to become a Mungyeong City where many people visit and stay by creating an attractive and emotional cultural and tourism city so that the difficulties of citizens due to COVID-19 can be minimized. Indicate the direction of operation.
First, we will take the lead in revitalizing the local economy by minimizing the damage to the economy of the working class due to COVID-19.

Third, we will engage in professional and progressive legal activities by cultivating our ability to perform law enforcement.
With the full revision of the Local Autonomy Act in December 2020, the foundation for strengthening the autonomy and capacity of local councils has been laid.
Our Mungyeong City Council will introduce a policy support officer who is a manpower for investigating and researching parliamentary data to strengthen the council's professionalism and productivity.
In addition, we will implement a resident ordinance initiative system to strengthen resident sovereignty and make efforts to realize the hopes of residents.
