국민의힘 홍석준 국회의원(대구 달서갑)이 대구시의 2022년도 산업통상자원부 ‘친환경 바이오 플라스틱 상용화 지원사업’ 최종 선정 소식을 전했다.

‘친환경 바이오 플라스틱 상용화 지원사업’은 생활 및 산업소비재 전반에 걸쳐 범용으로 상용되고 있는 기존 난분해성 플라스틱을 대체할 수 있는 친환경 플라스틱을 활용한 소재·부품 및 제품 상용화를 지원하는 사업이다.
최근 들어 기후변화 및 환경오염 문제가 전 세계적 이슈로 부각되고 있는 상황에서 ‘친환경 바이오 플라스틱 상용화 지원사업’은 주무부처인 산업부의 탄소중립 및 화이트바이오 분야의 핵심 사업으로 부각되고 있다.
이 가운데 대구시가 2022년도 산업통상자원부 ‘친환경 바이오 플라스틱 상용화 지원사업’에 최종 선정되면서 2024년까지 국비 28억 500만원에 시비 15억 원을 더해 총 43억 5백만 원의 사업비가 투입된다.
대구시는 대구TP, 경북대학교, 한국산업기술시험원과 연계 협력하여 사업을 수행할 예정이다.
홍석준 의원은 친환경 바이오 플라스틱을 활용한 제품 상용화 기술 지원, 사업화 지원, 친환경 인증 및 컨설팅 지원 등을 통해 지역 제조기업들이 국내·외 난분해성 플라스틱 규제에 선제적으로 대응할 수 있는 경쟁력을 확보할 수 있을 것이라고 전망했다.
또한 친환경 바이오 플라스틱 복합소재 및 기술을 통해 지역 제조기업들의 매출 증대와 고용 창출 효과가 클 것으로 기대하고 있다.
홍 의원은 “금번 사업 예산 확보와 사업 선정을 위해 지난해 상반기부터 기재부와 주무부처인 산업부와 긴밀히 협의해 왔다”며, “‘친환경 플라스틱 상용화 지원 사업’을 통해 기존의 난분해성 플라스틱 사용 규제 등과 같은 한계를 보완해 관련 지역기업들이 재도약 할 수 있을 것으로 확신한다”고 밝혔다.
