대구대학교가 경북소방본부의 '경북소방공무원 찾아가는 상담실' 사업에 4년 연속으로 선정됐다.
경북소방공무원 찾아가는 상담실 사업에 선정된 대구대학교는 소방공무원의 정신건강 관리에 대한 인식 제고와 정신건강 고위험군에 대한 지원방안을 마련한다는 소식을 전했다.

대구대 소방심리지원단은 현진희 단장(대구대 사회복지학과 교수) 등 전문상담사 16명으로 구성됐으며 경북지역 19개 소방서 및 120개 119안전센터를 방문해 소방관들의 정신건강 상담 사업을 수행할 예정이다.
정신건강 상담뿐만 아니라 자살시도, 외상사건들을 접한 소방관의 트라우마에 대한 개입과 집단상담, 알코올 교육. 수면관리, 스트레스 대처교육 프로그램 등도 실시한다.
이외에도 24시간 전화상담을 통해 위기 상황 시 즉각 상담사를 투입해 신속한 상담으로 외상에 노출된 소방관들이 사건으로 인한 부정적인 반응을 최소화하고 트라우마를 극복하도록 도우며, 소방공무원 가족을 위한 의사소통 교육도 한다.
현진희 단장은 “올해도 소방공무원들의 정신건강 향상을 위해 전문적인 상담활동을 적극적으로 펼치겠다.”고 말했다.
