(브레이크뉴스인천 문광수 기자) 부천문화재단이 펄 벅 탄생 130주년을 맞아 오는 6월 22일 오후 2시부터 6시까지 부천시립박물관 강당에서 ‘1950~60년대 한국 사회와 펄 벅’을 주제로 학술대회를 개최한다.
펄 벅은 1950~60년대에 한국과 첫 인연을 맺고, 부천에 소사희망원을 설립해 한국전쟁으로 인해 생긴 혼혈아동을 위해 헌신했다.
이번 학술대회는 이 시기 한국에서 펼친 펄 벅의 활동과 당시 우리 사회에서 수용된 그의 모습과 작품을 살펴볼 수 있는 자리다.
학술대회는 총 2부로 진행되며, 한국펄벅연구회 최종고 회장의 기조강연을 시작으로 남서울대학교 최소연 교수, 한국현대문예비평학회 구미리내 박사, 동국대학교 김윤경 교수, 인천대학교 박표진 교수 등이 발표자로 참여한다.
