(브레이크뉴스인천 문광수 기자) 부천시가 지난 22일 개최된 경기도 건축문화제에서 ‘부천 역곡도서관’이 제27회 경기도 건축문화상 사용승인 부분 ‘금상’을 수상했다고 밝혔다.
부천시에 따르면, 제27회 경기도 건축문화상은 ‘REINTERPRETATION-공간의 재해석’을 주제로 공모를 진행했으며, 10월 22일 오후 2시 김중업 건축 박물관 야외무대에서 시상식이 열렸다. 현재 온라인 전시관에 수상작이 전시돼 있다.
역곡도서관 건립과정에서 시민 수요조사 및 제안공모를 통해 다양한 지역 주민의 목소리를 반영하고, 산에 접한 역곡공원 특성을 반영하여 주변 모습과 조화를 이루는 지식공간 구현에 방점을 두고 노력한 점 등이 이번 수상에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다.
역곡도서관은 대지의 특성을 활용해 주변과 하나의 공간으로 묶어 자연의 모습과 조화를 이루는 지식공간으로 구현됐으며 연면적 1천494㎡, 지하 1층~지상 3층 규모로 사업비 61억 원을 들여 건립, 2019년 5월 개관했다.
역곡공원 안에 위치한 특성을 살려 ‘숲 생태’를 테마로, 생태자료를 전시할 수 있는 생태갤러리, 야외 문화공간인 한낮정원, 시민 휴게공간인 달빛정원 등으로 공간을 구성했다.
부천시는 역곡도서관 사업 초기 수요조사 단계부터 건립과정 내 건립추진위원회를 운영하면서 주민과의 소통의 장을 만들었으며, 지역 주민들이 원하고 필요한 공간으로 만들고자 힘썼다.
또한, 주민참여방안 논의를 통해 주민참여형 인테리어 공모를 진행했으며, 역곡지역 부천동초등학교, 역곡초등학교, 동곡초등학교 아이들의 소망을 담은 그림을 벽면 타일로 제작했다.
