세종시가 대학가나 학원가 등 민간화장실에 대한 불법촬영 점검에 나서는 한편 불법촬영 탐지 장비 대여서비스를 통해 디지털성범죄를 사전에 차단하고 불법촬영으로부터 안전하고 자유로운 세종건설를 이룬다는 계획이다.

점검단은 복합 열적외선 와이파이(Wi-Fi) 탐지기를 이용해 정밀 점검하고, 이후에는 여성안심화장실 스티커를 부착하며 예방활동을 벌였다.
세종시는 또 기존에 보유하고 있는 전자파탐지장비 기능을 보완한 복합 열적외선 와이파이 탐지기 총 46대를 구입했고, 12월 중 불법촬영기기 탐지장비를 읍·면·동에 각각 2대씩 배치해 시민 누구나 자가 점검을 할 수 있도록 대여 서비스를 확대한다고 밝혔다.
이와는 별도로 내년에는 점검을 완료한 민간화장실을 대상으로 안심화장실 표지판, 안심 거울 등을 설치하여 시민이 안전하게 이용할 수 있는 환경 공간을 조성한다는 계획이다.
세종시 관계자는 “화장실 불법촬영으로 인한 패해자들이 발생하지 않도록 시 차원의 지속적인 단속과 함께 세종시에서 불법촬영이 근절 될 때까지 단속과 점검을 늦추지 않을 것”이라고 밝혔다.
