태영호 의원은 6일 국민의힘 원내대책회의에 참석해 "문재인 전 대통령은 피격 공무원 유족들이 진실을 밝혀달라고 했을 때 '진실이 밝혀져 책임을 물어야 할 것은 묻겠다', '모든 과정을 투명하게 진행하고 진실을 밝혀낼 수 있도록 내가 직접 챙기겠다'고 했다"며 "그러더니 관련 사건 정보를 대통령기록물로 지정해 은폐했다. 정말 비겁하다"고 말했다.
태영호 의원은 "서해 공무원 피격 사건과 관련해 문재인 정부의 서훈 전 국가안보실장이 구속되자, 문재인 전 대통령 주변 인사들이 어제부터 윤석열 대통령을 향해 비겁하다는 비난을 이어가고 있다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
태영호 의원은 "문재인 전 대통령은 당시 국방부, 해경, 국정원 보고를 직접 듣고 자신이 '월북' 결정을 최종 승인했다고 했다"며 "그랬는데 그 전 감사원이 서면조사를 요구하자 '무례하다'라고 윽박질렀다"고 지적했다. 태 의원은 이어 "서훈 전 안보실장 구속을 앞두고 윤건영 의원에게 대독을 시켜 '도를 넘지 말라'고 했다"며 "정말 비겁하다. 유족들은 자신들에게 한 말이냐고 반발하고 있다"고 꼬집었다.
태영호 의원은 문재인 정부 당시 '적폐 청산'을 언급하며 비판을 이어갔다. 태 의원은 "문재인 대통령 주변 인사들은 이번 수사를 '전방위 정치보복'이라고 규정했는데, 자칭 적폐 청산이라며 전 정권 청와대 캐비닛을 들쑤시고 검찰을 총동원해 무리한 수사를 한 것은 기억하지 못하는가 싶다"며 "문재인 대통령 주변 인사들의 지금의 논리대로라면 정치보복의 배후는 명백히 문재인 전 대통령"이라고 말했다. 그러면서 "이들에 대한 사과 한마디 없는 문재인 청와대는 정말 비겁하다"고 덧붙였다.
