브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자 = 국민의힘이 여당 몫 국회 후반기 상임위원장 5명을 8일 내정했다.
국민의힘은 이날 국회 상임위원장 후보자 선출 의원총회를 열고 김태호(외교통일위원장), 박덕흠(정보위원장), 윤영석(기획재정위원장), 장제원(행정안전위원장), 한기호(국방위원장)의원을 각 상임위원장 후보자로 선출했다.
정보위원장을 제외한 나머지 4개 상임위원장 자리에는 단독 입후보로 인해 박수 추대 형식으로 후보자가 선정됐다. 정보위원장 후보자로는 박덕흠 의원과 하태경 의원이 복수로 나서, 경선을 통해 최종 박덕흠 의원으로 결정됐다.
새롭게 뽑힌 상임위원장 후보자들은 추후 본회의 표결을 거쳐 상임위원장으로 정식 선출될 예정이다. 임기는 2023년 1월부터 21대 국회가 끝나는 2024년 5월까지다. 다만, 앞서 여야가 행안위원장과 과학기술정보방송통신위원장을 1년씩 교대로 맡기로 한 합의에 따라 장제원 의원은 2023년 6월부터는 과방위원장을 맡게 된다.
정진석 국민의힘 비상대책위원장은 이날 의원총회에서 상임위원장 후보 선출과 관련해 "2020년 4월 총선 이후에 민주당이 망가뜨려 놓은 원구성을 최종적으로 바로잡는 그런 의미가 있다"고 밝혔다.
정진석 비대위원장은 이어 "민주당에게 마지막으로 경고한다"며 "이 원구성의 기형적인 구조를 바로잡는 여기까지 오기에 민주당이 정말 성찰하고 반성할 점은 없는지, 왜 20년 정권, 50년 정권 호언장담하던 사람이 대선 지고, 정권 뺏기고, 지방선거 참패하고 이래도 반성하고 성찰할 줄 모르고, 결국은 또 예산안까지 볼모로 잡아 이렇게 한다면 내후년 총선에서 반드시 그 대가를 혹독하게 치르게 될 것"이라고 말했다.
