고양시는 20일, 고양문화재단 경영합리화 운영방안을 발표해 조직·경영·재정 등 운영구조 전반의 비효율을 개선하고, 대폭 손질하여 재단을 ‘글로벌 문화기지’로 업그레이드 하겠다고 밝혔다.

시는 내년 1월 재단 조직개편을 단행한다.
흩어진 유사·중복업무를 통합해 조직 슬림화에 나서 정원을 90%까지 감축하고, 이외 한시인력도 80%까지 감축하는 고강도 조정을 실시한다.
또한 수익성·효과성 낮은 사업 예산을 줄여 양질의 문화콘텐츠에 투자한다.

내년부터는 고양시에서도 세계적 규모의 공연과 전시를 보다 폭넓게 관람할 수 있을 것으로 보인다.
재단에서 운영 중인 고양 아람누리의 경우, 실내·외 4,600석을 갖춘 공연장과 국내 최고 수준의 음향시설을 갖추고 있지만 시민의 접근성이 떨어지고 볼거리가 부족하다는 지적이 있어 세계적 뮤지컬 공연 유치, 국내외 유수 음악·공연단체 초청에 역량을 집중한다.
시는 아람누리 공연장과 더불어 내년 6월 개관하는 고양시립아람미술관에 유수 공연과 전시를 유치해 시민의 발길을 끌어 모은다는 계획이다.
