세종시가 자동차 관련 체납차량에 대한 번호판 합동 영치에 나선다.
세종시는 자동차세·과태료 체납액 일소를 위해 관내 고액·상습 체납차량에 대해 매달 첫째 주 수요일을 ‘합동 영치일’로 정하고 번호판 합동 영치에 나선다고 밝혔다.
5일부터 번호판 합동 영치에 나서는 세종시는 이번 합동 영치에 본청 세원관리과와 읍·면·동 합동으로 총 12개조 27명의 영치반을 편성해 운영한다.
영치대상은 자동차세 2회 이상 체납, 20 만원 이상 체납차량 또는 자동차 관련 과태료 체납차량이 영치 대상ㅇ데 포함된다.
세종시는 이번 번호판 합동 영치를 위해, 체납이 실시간으로 조회 가능한 모바일 영치시스템을 사용해 세종시 전 지역을 단속할 예정이다.
또한, 타 지자체 등록 차량의 경우에도 자동차세 3회 이상 체납일 경우 지방자치단체간 징수촉탁제도를 활용, 차량등록지 여부와 관계없이 영치대상에 포함된다.
한편 세종시에 따르면 자동차세 이월체납액은 48억 원으로 전체 체납액의 17.5%를 차지하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.
