한국자유총연맹(총재 강석호, 이하 연맹)은 4월 7일자 보도자료에서 “이날 오후 1시, 서울 남산에 위치한 자유센터 대강당에서 ‘2023 자유민주주의 소양교육 강사 워크숍’을 개최했다. 자유민주주의 소양교육 전문교수 80명과 담당자 17명이 참가한 이번 워크숍은 신규 전문교수 위촉장 수여식 후 권영세 통일부 장관의 ‘최근 한반도 정세와 정부의 통일대북정책’ 특강으로 시작됐다”고 소개하고 “남주홍 경기대 석좌교수의 ‘안보강의 교수법: 안보위기 어떻게 분석할 것인가’와 이희천 국민깨우기운동본부 대표의 ‘6・25전쟁 통해 반공 자유의 가치 바로알기’ 특강을 진행했다”고 밝혔다.
이날 한국자유총연맹의 강석호 총재는 환영 인사를 통해 “대한민국은 세계 유일의 분단국가로서 인류 역사 이래 볼 수 없던 공산 세습왕조를 유지하며 핵과 미사일로 국제사회와 대한민국을 위협해온 북한과 대립하고 있는 현실 속에 자유민주주의 수호와 안보를 지키기 위해서 자유민주주의 소양교육은 매우 중요하다”라며 “자유민주주의 소양교육 강사 여러분은 자유민주주의 수호와 안보 지킴이 역할을 담당하는 연맹의 자랑스러운 얼굴로서 앞으로 각 지역에서 자유민주주의 소양교육에 최선을 다해주시길 바란다”라고 당부했다.
