일산소방서는 지난 12월 2일 22시경 경기도 고양시 일산동 소재에서 의식을 잃고 쓰러진 50대 남성을 극적으로 회복시켰다고 밝혔다.
119구급대(선착대 주엽구급차 소방교 장환석, 대체인력 김인태)는 자택에서 남성이 갑자기 쓰러졌다는 신고를 받고 출동 중 심정지 상황 인지되어 보호자에게 심폐소생술 안내와 추가 구급차 요청(구조구급차 소방장 유성민, 소방사 문성환)하였으며 현장도착하여 심장충격기(AED), 가슴압박, 산소투여 등 현장응급처치를 실시했다. 대원들의 신속한 현장 처치로 회복된 환자는 심정지 후 전문적인 소생치료가 가능한 인근 병원으로 이송되었다.

특히 119구급대는 출동 중 보호자에게 전화상으로 심정지 상황을 인지하여 심폐소생술을 안내하였으며, 보호자의 신속한 신고와 초기 심폐소생술 시작으로 심정지 환자를 소생시키는 전문 심장 소생술(약물투여, 인공호흡유지)을 현장에서 실시하여 50대 가장의 생명을 극적으로 살렸다고 일산소방서는 전했다.
