【브레이크뉴스 포항】박희경 기자=포항시는 19일 시청 중회의실에서 대구한의대학교와 해양 전문인력의 양성과 관련 연구개발 역량을 강화하기 위한 ‘해양산업 공동 발전’ 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이날 협약식에는 이강덕 포항시장과 백인규 포항시의회 의장, 변창훈 대구한의대학교 총장을 비롯한 기관 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 해양산업 공동 발전을 위한 협력에 힘을 모으기로 했다.
이번 협약으로 양 기관은 해양 교육·문화 관련 환동해 해양 교육문화 센터 운영, 해양수산 식품 관련 HMR 연구개발, 해양 치유 소재 및 해양 치유 프로그램 개발, 해양 인문 발전 및 마린 관광 개발, 청년들의 어촌 정착 및 지역 활성화 관련 사업 운영에 함께 노력해 나갈 계획이다.
포항시는 특히 이번 협약을 통해 해양 교육·문화 홍보, 프로그램 개발에 적극 나서며 환동해 중심도시 ‘포항’으로의 역량을 한층 강화하고, 관련 기관과의 유기적인 협력체계를 통해 지역의 특색을 살린 해양산업 활성화 전략을 마련해 나간다는 방침이다.
이강덕 포항시장은 “이번 협약을 통해 해양교육과 문화의 융합을 통한 해양산업 발전을 선도하고, 관련 산업 인재 발굴과 육성에도 힘을 모으겠다”며, “포항이 가진 지역의 특색을 살린 해양 자원개발을 통해 해양산업의 르네상스 시대를 열어 가겠다”고 말했다.
