군에 따르면 법정경제단체인 소상공인연합회(회장 오세희)가 주최한 이번 행사는 다산 정약용 선생의 목민정신을 본받아 지역 소상공인의 권익을 보호하고 지원 제도를 마련하는 등의 공로를 평가해 국회의원에겐 초정대상를, 지방자치단체장에겐 목민감사패를 시상한다.
김광열 영덕군수는 저신용 소상공인들의 대출 부담을 경감하는 ‘소상공인 특례보증’, 시장 활성화 프로젝트인 ‘전통시장 러브투어’, 소상공인의 온라인 판매를 지원하는 ‘온택트 비즈니스 지원사업’, 지역화폐 ‘영덕 사랑 상품권’ 활성화 등 소상공인 지원 정책을 적극적으로 추진해 높은 평가를 받았다.
