이번 평가는 행정안전부의 민원서비스 종합평가와 연계해 경상북도가 7개 항목 16개 지표를 기준으로 매년 산하 지자체를 평가해 민원행정 추진실적이 우수한 기관과 유공자를 선정해 시상하는 제도다.
영덕군은 이번 평가에서 안전한 민원실 환경조성을 위해 본청과 읍·면 민원창구의 아크릴 가림막을 고정식 강화유리로 전면 교체, 민원 안내 도우미 운영, 장애인·임산부를 위한 전용 창구 배치, 수유실과 상담실 조성 등 민원행정 환경을 개선하고 이용자의 편의를 향상한 점이 높은 점수를 받았다.
김광열 영덕군수는 “이번 수상을 당근이 아닌 채찍으로 여겨 앞으로 더욱 적극적으로 민원 시책을 개발하고 민원인과 직원이 함께 행복한 민원실을 만들기 위해 노력해 나갈 것”이라며, “군민의 소중한 지지와 응원을 모두가 체감할 수 있는 수준 높은 민원 행정 서비스로 보답하겠다”고 말했다.
