(브레이크뉴스인천 문광수 기자) 인천시가 11일, 우리 아이들에게 재미있고 쉽게 인천에 대해 정확하게 알리기 위해 교육콘텐츠로 웹툰 ‘와라! 인천 마법의 세계로’(이하‘와라! 인천’)를 오는 1월 18일부터 주 2회(화, 목) 홈페이지에서 정식 연재를 시작한다고 밝혔다.
인천시에 따르면, 시는 인천의 역사와 문화, 산업 등에 대해 보다 잘 알 수 있도록 인천연구원과 함께 청소년들에게 접근성이 높은 웹툰 형태로 인천에 대한 교육 콘텐츠를 제작하게 됐다.
이 웹툰은 편의점에서 일어나는 재미난 이야기를 담은 네이버 인기 웹툰 ‘와라! 편의점’을 연재한 인천출신 웹툰작가 지강민 작가가 제작에 참여했다.
지강민 작가는 “인천에 살지만 인천을 잘 알지 못하는 청소년들을 위해 인천의 토박이 작가가 꾸려주는 유쾌하고 환상적인 인천 로컬 투어가 될 것이다”고 말했다.
한편‘와라! 인천’은 인천이 다른 지역과 구별되는 특색있는 주제를 선정해 총 30편의 에피소드를 구성했으며, 마물의 알을 찾아 다른 세계에서 인천으로 온 소녀 미르와 인천에 살지만 인천을 잘 알지 못했던 소년 재민이 인천 곳곳에 숨겨진 마물의 알을 찾아 떠나면서 벌어지는 이야기로 진행된다.
인천시는 인천교육청과 연계해 교육 콘텐츠로 활용될 수 있도록 협력할 예정이며 향후 연재가 완료되면 단행본으로도 출간하고 영어 등 외국어로 번역하여 외국어 홈페이지에도 게재할 예정이다.
