군포시가 교육부 산하 국립특수교육원이 주최하는 ‘장애인 평생학습도시’로 올해 신규 지정돼 국비 5,300여만 원을 확보해 양질의 장애인·비장애인 맞춤형 통합 프로그램을 중점 운영할 예정이다.
군포시는 △수어 문해교육 △시로 소통하는 장애인식 개선 △우리동네 탐방교실 등 26개 프로그램을 군포시 관내 장애인 및 비장애인을 대상으로 운영할 예정이다.
장애인 평생학습도시 공모사업은 장애인의 특성과 수요가 반영된 평생교육을 제공하여 장애인의 자립생활능력 및 지역사회 참여역량 강화를 위한 사업이다.
하은호 시장은 “올해 처음 장애인 평생학습도시로 지정된 만큼 관내 장애인들에게 실질적으로 필요한 다양한 평생교육 사업을 추진하겠다”며, “장애인 욕구에 맞는 맞춤형 프로그램 기획 및 나아가 성숙된 장애인식 개선을 위하여 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
올해 신규 장애인 평생학습도시로 선정된 지자체는 군포시를 비롯해 강원 평창군, 경기 양평군, 경북 안동시, 대전 대덕구, 부산 금정구, 서울 강남구, 강서구, 종로구, 충남 서산시, 충북 괴산군, 증평군 총 12개 시군구이다.
