경기도교육청(교육감 임태희)이 지난해 12월 경기도의회에서 ‘2024년 도교육청 본예산’이 확정됨에 따라 올해부터 교육협력사업으로 교복 통합지원 사업을 추진한다.
경기도교육청은 지난 2월 2일 2024학년도 중·고등학교 신입생의 교복 지원단가를 30만원에서 40만원으로 10만원 인상하고 교복·생활복·체육복을 통합 지원한다고 밝혔다.
교복 통합지원은 학교가 단체복으로 규정한 교복·생활복·체육복 등을 학교가 자율적으로 선택해 그 비용을 학부모에게 지원하는 방식이다.
경기도교육청은 지원금 인상분(10만원) 관련해 교육지원청 담당자 연수와 학교 안내를 통해 학부모들의 불편을 최소화하고 있다.
교복 공급은 ‘경기도 학교 교복 지원 조례’에 따른 학교장의 책무이다.
경기도내 학교드은 교복 통합지원을 위한 복장규정을 정비하고 있다. 또 도내 중·고 교복지원 대상교 중 83% 학교가 기존 정장 교복 외 다른 품목에 대한 지원 근거를 교칙에 반영하고 지원품목 선정을 위해 학생, 학부모의 의견수렴 및 계약 절차 등을 추진하고 있다.
경기도교육청 엄신옥 교육복지과장은 “학교에서 교복 통합지원으로 학생들이 착용하는 다양한 복장 지원이 가능하도록 학생, 학부모 선택권을 최대한 보장할 수 있게 의견수렴에 철저를 기해 실질적 지원이 이뤄지도록 노력해 줄 것”을 당부했다.
