파주소방서는 23일 소화기를 이용해 화재를 초기에 진화한 민간인에게 소방서장 유공 표창을 수여했다고 밝혔다.
민간인 표창 대상자는 LG디스플레이에서 근무하는 김춘호(81년생)씨로 지난 2월 8일 오전 8시 47분경 자택(아파트) 아래층에서 올라오는 화재 연기와 냄새로 화재 상황을 초기에 인지하고, 화재 현장에 있던 5세 어린이를 본인의 집으로 안전하게 대피시킨 후 본인 집에 설치된 소화기를 사용하여 자체 진화를 실시, 적극적인 초기 진화와 화재 피해를 최소화한 공로를 인정받았다.

파주소방서장 표창은 신속한 화재진압으로 귀중한 생명을 지키고 재산을 보호하는 데 기여한 민간 유공자에게 그 공로를 인정하고 수여하였으며 소정의 기념품과 소화기를 전달했다.
