의왕시 비영리봉사단체 미소나눔(대표 오문경)이 지난 2월 17일 오전동 거주 장애인 가정을 찾아 ‘사랑의 집고치기’ 봉사 활동을 전개했다.
미소나눔은 매월 셋째 주 토요일에 도움의 손길이 필요한 이웃들의 집수리 봉사를 진행하고 있다.
이날 장애인 어르신 가정에 모인 미소나눔 회원 10여 명은 싱크대를 비롯한 도배·장판, 전등을 교체하는 작업을 진행했다.
지원을 받은 한 장애인은 “몸이 불편해 떨어진 싱크대를 수리하는 게 엄두가 나지 않았는데 이렇게 새벽부터 구슬땀을 흘리며 낡은 집을 새집처럼 바꿔주니 정말 감사하다”고 말했다.
김성제 의왕시장은 봉사 현장을 방문해 “추운 날씨에도 어려운 이웃을 돕고자 적극적인 봉사활동을 펼치는 미소나눔 단원들에게 존경과 감사의 마음을 전한다”고 말했다.
미소나눔은 집수리 봉사 외에도 청계복지관 배식 봉사, 방충망 설치 등 다양한 봉사활동으로 의왕시 복지 사각지대에 희망의 등불이 되고 있다.

Smile Sharing, ‘House Repairing with Love’ volunteer activity for the disabled
On February 17, Smile Sharing, a non-profit volunteer organization in Uiwang City (CEO Moon-kyung Oh), visited families of disabled people living in Ojeong-dong and carried out ‘House Repairing with Love’ volunteer work.
Smile Sharing conducts home repair services for neighbors in need on the third Saturday of every month.
On this day, about 10 Smile Sharing members gathered at the home of a disabled elderly person and worked to replace the sink, wallpaper, flooring, and lights.
