진불선원 주지 무아 스님은 “불교 종립대학 동국대학교에 늘 기부를 해야겠다는 마음을 갖고 있었는데 신임 류완하 총장님의 임기에 맞추어 기부하게 되어 기쁘다며, 불교 인재양성에 조그마한 보탬이 되기를 바라고 학생들도 부처님의 가르침을 실천하며 고해의 바다인 현실의 어려움을 잘 헤쳐나가는 지혜를 체득하길 바란다”고 기부 소감을 밝혔다.
류완하 동국대 WISE캠퍼스총장은 “소중한 장학금을 기부해주신 진불선원 주지 무아스님께 감사드린다며”, “불교적 소양을 두루 갖춘 훌륭한 인재를 양성할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
지역 미래불자 육성장학은 동국대학교 건학위원회가 지역사찰과 동국대에 재학 중인 해당지역 학생들을 연결해 수여하는 장학금으로, 이번 기부금은 진불선원 있는 창원 지역에 주소를 둔 재학생들에게 수여할 예정이다.
