(해남=브레이크뉴스) 이학수 기자=전남 해남군이 명량대첩에서 시작된 400년 한중 우정을 미래 발전을 위한 우호협력의 동력으로 확대해 나가고 있다.
해남군은 지난 7일 중국 광동성 운부시 운안구를 방문해 해남군과 운안구 간 우호교류 협약을 체결하고 양 도시간 청소년, 스포츠, 문화 등 다양한 분야의 교류 활성화 방안을 논의했다.(사진)
김차진 해남부군수와 시웨궈차이(谢国才) 운안구청장이 함께한 협약식에서 양 군-구는 산업과 문화, 관광, 스포츠, 교육, 행정 등 다양한 분야에서 교류와 협력을 전개해 공동발전을 촉진하고, 양도시의 상호번영을 지원해 나가기로 했다.
특히 정유재란 당시 명나라 수군도독으로 참전한 진린장군의 연구를 통해 역사 문화의 공동발전 방향을 지속적으로 모색해 나가는데 협력을 강화하기로 했다.
이번 협약은 정유재란(1597년 8월~1598년 12월) 당시 수군 도독으로 출병해 이순신 장군과 함께 왜군을 물리친 진린 장군의 우정을 공동번영의 미래로 발전시키고자 마련됐다.
인구 34만명의 운안구는 진린장군이 성장한 곳으로 진린장군 사당과 사적관 등이 소재하고 진린문화연구회가 활동하는 등 현창사업이 활발하게 전개되고 있다.
이와 관련 7~8일에는 진린장군의 탄생을 기념하는 제1회 진린문화축제가 개최되어 협약식과 함께 축제 기념식 참석도 이뤄졌다.
해남군은 진린장군의 출생지인 광동성 옹원현과도 지난 1999년 자매결연을 체결해 양측을 오가며 꾸준한 교류를 이어오고 있는 가운데, 이번 운안구 협약 체결로 명량대첩의 이순신 장군과 진린장군의 우정을 매개로 한 한중우호 협력의 폭을 한층 넓히고 있다.
진린장군은 정유재란이 발발하여 수군 파병의 필요성이 대두되자 명나라 수군의 도독으로 임명되었으며, 1598년 이순신장군과 연합전선을 형성하여 노량해전을 승리로 이끈 인물이다.
특히 해남군 산이면 황조마을에는 진린장군의 유지에 따라 후손들이 이주·정착해 광동진씨 집성촌을 이루어 살아가고 있으며 진린장군의 사당인 황조별묘가 위치해 한-중 우호협력의 상징으로 자리매김하고 있다.
김차진 부군수는“해남군 방문단을 초청 및 환대해주신 운안구 시웨궈차이 구청장님을 비롯한 모든 관계자분들께 감사드린다”며“이번 우호교류 의향서 체결을 통해 양국의 우호관계를 더욱 굳건히 하고 청소년들의 문화체험, 생활체육 교류 등 다방면에서 실질적인 성과가 도출되기를 바란다”고 말했다.
