【브레이크뉴스 울진】이우근 기자=울진군(군수 손병복)은 지난 22일 군청에서 ㈜하이셀텍(대표이사 김길훈), 영남에너지서비스(주)(대표이사 곽원병)와‘울진군 융복합 수소연료전지 사업 유치 및 보급 확대를 위한 업무협약’을 체결했다고 23일 밝혔다.

군은 이번 업무협약을 통해 전기차 충전 복합 에너지 슈퍼스테이션 사업을 추진하게 된다.
전기차 복합 연료전지 스테이션 사업이란 도심 내 국유지·공유지·주유소 등의 유휴 부지에 연료전지와 전기차 충전기를 설치하고, 연료전지에서 생산되는 전기를 전기차 충전기뿐 아니라 인근 배전망에도 공급하는 사업이다.
산소와 수소의 전기 화학적 반응을 통해 전력을 생산하는 연료전지는 저탄소 발전원으로써 주목을 받고 있다.
울진군은 앞으로 보유한 공공부지를 활용하여 연료전지를 중심으로 도심형 분산 전원 및 전기 자동차 충전기 보급 확산에 나설 계획이다.
울진군은 이번 사업을 통해 분산 전원 보급율을 높이고, 송전 손실 및 송전망 건설에 대한 사회적 비용을 경감시킬 것으로 기대하고 있다.
현재 국내 전력 시장은 장거리 송전에 따른 전력 손실뿐만 아니라 송전망 건설 입지 문제에 따른 사회적 문제가 지속되고 있는 상황으로, 향후 폭발적인 증가가 예상되는 전기차 충전 인프라 구축에 선제적으로 대처하기 위해서는 전기차 충전 인프라의 적기 공급이 중요한 상황이다.
