[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 5월 1일부터 온실가스 감축 활동의 일환으로 공동주택 94개소를 대상으로 탄소중립포인트제 가입 순회 홍보에 나선다고 30일 밝혔다.
탄소중립포인트제는 온실가스 배출을 줄일 수 있도록 가정, 아파트 단지 등에서 전기, 수도, 도시가스 사용량을 절감하고 감축률에 따라 포인트를 부여하는 제도다.
진주시는 지난해 말 기준으로 1만700여 가구인 탄소중립포인트제 참여 가구를 올해 말까지 만5138가구로 늘려 전체 가구수 대비 10%의 가입률을 달성한다는 방침이다.
시는 각종 행사 시 찾아가는 탄소중립포인트제 가입창구 운영, 협약 온라인 카페인 진주아지매를 이용한 온라인 가입 홍보, 시 SNS 등 다양한 방법으로 홍보를 이어나가고 있다.
이번 공동주택 대상으로 시는 직접 신규 가입 신청을 받고, 탄소중립을 위해 개인도 실생활에서 충분히 기여할 수 있음을 알리고 제도 가입을 독려할 예정이다.
또 시는 신축 아파트에 홍보부스를 설치하고 맞춤형 홍보를 통해 신규 입주 세대가 조기에 탄소중립포인트제에 참여할 수 있도록 탄소중립 실천 문화 확산을 위해 힘쓸 예정이다.
