일산동부경찰서는 불기 2568년 ‘부처님오신날’ 봉축법요식(5월 15일)을 맞아 관내 주요 사찰을 대상으로 선제적·종합적 범죄예방활동을 실시한다.

이는 부처님오신날 행사에 많은 인파가 모일 것으로 예상되어 관내 10개 사찰 주변에서 발생할 수 있는 절도·문화재 손괴·교통혼잡 등을 사전 예방하기 위한 특별방범활동이다.
이달 11일까지는 대형사찰 위주 범죄예방진단 및 취약요소를 집중 파악하고, 이후 12일부터 15일 행사 당일까지는 파악된 취약지를 중심으로 탄력순찰활동과 함께 사건·사고접수 대비 유관기관 및 사찰과의 신속 연락체계를 확보하여 현장대응력을 강화하고 있다.

또한 부처님오신날 당일 교통혼잡 해소를 위해 사찰 주변 혼잡도로 집중관리와 교통불편 신속대응팀을 사전 편성하는 등 특별교통관리도 진행할 계획이다.
일산동부경찰서장은 “사찰 측과 협조하여 CCTV 등 범죄예방 시설을 사전 점검하고 관련 부서 간 긴밀한 협업을 통해 안전한 행사가 될 수 있도록 선제적으로 대응해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.[고양=박정호 기자]
