꾸준한 기부로 이웃사랑을 실천하고 있는 최순향씨가 올해도 과천시에 기부금 1,000만 원을 전달하는 전달식이 지난 8월 20일, 시청 시장 집무실에서 열렸다.
최순향씨는 어려운 이웃을 위해 지난 2016년부터 남편인 최천식씨와 함께 매년 기부금과 쌀, 마스크 등의 기부물품을 과천시에 전달해 왔다. 아너소사이어티 명예회원이기도 한 최순향씨기부금 총액은 1억7,000여만 원에 달한다.
과천시는 전달받은 기부금을 경기사회복지공동모금회에 기탁, 관내 어려운 이웃을 위해 사용할 예정이다.
최순향씨는 “하늘이 재물을 내려줄 때는 이웃과 함께 나눠 쓰라고 주는 것이라 생각하고, 항상 기부를 실천하고 있다. 기부금이 꼭 필요한 곳에 요긴하게 쓰이기를 바란다”고 밝혔다.
신계용 과천시장은 “변함없는 이웃사랑의 마음이 지역사회에 큰 귀감이 되고 있다. 꾸준한 기부로 이웃 사랑을 실천하시는 최순향님께 진심으로 감사와 존경의 말씀을 드린다”며, “과천시도 그 마음을 잘 새기고, 더욱 세심하게 시민의 생활을 챙겨나가겠다”라고 말했다.
최순향씨는 이날 경기도에도 도움이 필요한 이웃을 위해 써달라며 기부금 1,000만원을 전달했다.
