SPC의 아이스크림 프랜차이즈 배스킨라빈스가 대세 배우 변우석의 입맛을 반영한 새로운 맛의 아이스크림을 선보인다.
SPC 배스킨라빈스는 브랜드 모델 변우석이 제품개발 과정에 적극 참여한 이달의 맛 ‘우석이도 외계인’을 9월 1일부터 출시한다고 8월 30일 밝혔다.
이번 신제품은 최근 배스킨라빈스 모델로 합류한 변우석의 손길로 탄생한 플레이버(풍미, 맛)다. 배스킨라빈스는 “신입 연구원 변우석이 개발과정에서 플레이버의 조합, 비율, 작명 등 세부 사항에 적극적으로 의견을 제시하며 열정을 드러냈다”고 밝혔다.
‘우석이도 외계인’은 변우석이 평소 배스킨라빈스에서 가장 좋아하는 두 가지 맛, ‘엄마는 외계인’과 ‘민트 초콜릿 칩’을 조합해 탄생한 제품이다. 민트 아이스크림과 초콜릿 아이스크림이 조화를 이루며, 초콜릿 칩과 단짠 매력의 프레첼 볼이 더해져 풍부한 식감과 깔끔하면서도 달콤한 매력을 자랑한다.
변우석의 ‘최애’ 이모티콘을 모티브로 한 이달의 케이크 ‘우석이와 함께 스마일’도 함께 출시된다. ‘우석이와 함께 스마일’은 ‘워크샵 by 배스킨라빈스’ 매장에서 셰프 메이드 케이크로 8월 31일 먼저 선보인 뒤, 이후 9월 중순경부터 배스킨라빈스 전 점포로 확대 운영될 예정이다. 스마일 이모티콘의 눈과 입 부분을 표현한 케이크로 기획되어 팬들의 시선을 사로잡는다.
아울러 민트와 초콜릿 아이스크림 조합에 초콜릿 칩으로 식감을 살린 것이 특징인 ‘우석이도 외계인 마카롱’을 ‘이달의 디저트’로 선보인다. 9월 중순경에는 민트와 초콜릿 아이스크림에 프레첼 볼과 초콜릿 칩 토핑을 더해 더욱 풍부한 맛을 선사하는 ‘우석이도 외계인 선데’도 추가로 출시할 계획이다.
배스킨라빈스 관계자는 “이번 ‘우석이도 외계인’은 브랜드 모델이자 신입 연구원 변우석의 열정과 아이디어가 담긴 특별한 제품”이라고 설명했다.
한편, 이달의 맛 출시를 기념해 배스킨라빈스는 9월 1일부터 3일까지 ‘9월 배라데이’를 진행한다. 매장 방문 시 9월 이달의 맛을 포함한 3가지 맛을 담을 수 있는 파인트(9,800원)를 20% 할인된 가격으로 구매할 수 있다. 제휴사 혜택으로는 쿼터 사이즈(18,500원) 이상을 카카오페이로 결제 시 4천원, 신한카드 마이샵으로 결제 시 최대 5천원 할인된다.

“Come taste Byun Woo-seok's favorite ice cream in September!”
Baskin Robbins, an SPC-affiliated ice cream franchise, is introducing a new flavor of ice cream that reflects the taste of popular actor Byun Woo-seok.
SPC Baskin-Robbins announced on August 30 that the brand's flavor of the month, “Woo Suk Do Alien,” will be available from September 1, with Byun actively participating in the product development process.
The new flavor was created by Byun Woo-seok, who recently joined Baskin-Robbins as a model. “During the development process, new researcher Woo-seok Byun showed his passion by actively commenting on details such as flavor combinations, proportions, and names,” Baskin-Robbins said.
“Woo Suk is also an Alien” is a combination of two of Byun's favorite Baskin-Robbins flavors, ‘Mama's Alien’ and ”Mint Chocolate Chip. The combination of mint ice cream and chocolate ice cream, along with chocolate chips and sweet pretzel balls, gives the flavor a rich texture and a clean yet sweet appeal.
The cake of the month, “Smile with WooSeok,” is also released with the motif of Byun's favorite emoji. The chef-made cake will debut at Workshop by Baskin-Robbins stores on August 31, and then expand to all Baskin-Robbins stores from mid-September. The cake is designed to look like the eyes and mouth of a smiley emoji, which is sure to catch fans' attention.
In addition, the “Utsukado Alien Macaron,” which features a combination of mint and chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips to enhance the texture, will be introduced as the dessert of the month. In mid-September, Baskin-Robbins will also introduce the “Uhsugado Alien Sundae,” which combines mint and chocolate ice cream with pretzel balls and chocolate chip toppings for a richer flavor.
“This flavor is a special product that contains the passion and ideas of our brand model and new researcher, Woo-seok Byun,” said a Baskin Robbins representative.
To celebrate the launch of the flavor of the month, Baskin-Robbins will hold 'September Bar Day' from September 1st to 3rd. Customers can purchase a pint of three flavors, including September's flavor of the month, for 20 percent off ($9.800). As an affiliate benefit, customers can save 4,000 won when paying with Kakao Pay for a quarter size (18,500 won) or larger, and up to 5,000 won when paying with Shinhan Card My Shop.
