의약품 제조기업 GC녹십자 혈우병 환자 지원 시스템을 발표했다.
GC녹십자(대표이사 허은철, 006280)는 9월4~6일까지 열린 ‘2024 글로벌 바이오 콘퍼런스(GBC)’에 참가해 ‘혈우병 환자 맞춤치료 의사결정 지원 시스템 사례’에 대한 주제 발표를 진행했다고 9월 6일 밝혔다.
‘2024 글로벌 바이오 콘퍼런스(Global Bio Conference, 이하 GBC)’는 식약처가 주최하는 행사. 세계 규제당국, 제약업계, 학계, 환자단체 등 전문가들이 모여 각국의 바이오의약품 최신 규제 동향과 개발 현황을 공유하고, 미래 발전을 위한 혁신과 협력 방안 등을 논의하는 글로벌 소통의 장이다.
GC녹십자는 “이번 행사 기간 동안 부스 운영을 통해 지속적으로 확대 중인 위탁생산(CMO) 사업역량과 R&D 파이프라인 경쟁력을 알리고 글로벌 파트너사들과 협업 가능성을 논의했다”고 전했다.
올해는 GBC 10주년을 맞이해 인공지능(AI) 등 첨단 혁신기술 기반 바이오 대전환 시대에 맞춰 새로운 미래를 준비하기 위한 규제협력에 대해 심도 있게 논의하는 자리가 마련됐다.
9월 5일 진행된 규제과학 포럼에서 최봉규 GC녹십자 데이터사이언스 센터장은 ‘맞춤의료, 빅데이터 및 규제과학: 혈우병 환자 맞춤치료 의사결정 지원 시스템 사례’를 주제로 발표를 진행했다.
최 센터장은 “국내 혈우병 환자의 혈액응고 8인자 집단 약동학(Pharmacokinetics·PK) 모델을 기반으로 개별 환자의 PK 특징들을 예측할 수 있는 시스템을 개발했다”며 “새롭게 개발된 시스템은 의료진이 개별 환자에 최적화된 혈액응고 8인자의 용법 용량을 결정하는데 많은 도움이 될 것”이라고 설명했다.
이어 “시스템을 활용한 투여 용법 용량 결정은 국내 혈우병 환자 개인 맞춤치료를 통해 투약 순응도를 높이고, 출혈률 감소로 인한 총의료비 절감과 동시에 환자 삶의 질 개선 효과까지 예상된다”고 강조했다.

GC Green Cross (CEO Heo Eun-cheol, 006280) announced on September 6 that it participated in the '2024 Global Bioconference (GBC)' from September 4-6 and presented a topic on 'The Case of Decision Support System for Hemophilia Patients'.
The 2024 Global Bio Conference (GBC) is an event organized by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. It is a global communication venue where experts from global regulatory authorities, pharmaceutical industry, academia, and patient organizations gather to share the latest regulatory trends and developments in biopharmaceuticals in each country, and discuss innovation and cooperation for future development.
“Through our booth during the event, we showcased our continuously expanding contract manufacturing (CMO) business capabilities and R&D pipeline competitiveness, and discussed potential collaborations with global partners,” said GC Green Cross.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the GBC, and the event was organized to discuss in-depth regulatory cooperation to prepare for a new future in the era of biotransformation based on advanced innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI).
At the Regulatory Science Forum on September 5, Dr. Bongkyu Choi, head of the GC Green Cross Data Science Center, gave a presentation on 'Personalized Medicine, Big Data, and Regulatory Science: The Case of a Decision Support System for Hemophilia Patients'.
“We have developed a system that can predict PK features of individual patients based on the population pharmacokinetics (PK) model of eight blood clotting factors of hemophilia patients in Korea,” Choi said. ”The newly developed system will help medical staff determine the optimal dosage of eight blood clotting factors for individual patients.”
The system is expected to improve medication adherence through personalized treatment for hemophilia patients in Korea, reduce total medical costs due to reduced bleeding rates, and improve patient quality of life.”
