김해시, ‘2024 대한민국 자치발전 대상’ 수상

[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시가 2024년 대한민국 자치발전 대상 기초자치단체 부문 수상의 영광을 안았다. (사)한국자치발전연구원이 주최하고 한국지방자치학회와 한국지역개발학회가 후원한 ‘2024 대한민국 자치발전 대상’ 시상식이 지난 25일 오후 2시 서울 용산구 백범김구기념관 컨벤션홀에서 개최됐다.

이 상은 지방자치 발전에 기여한 국회의원, 지방자치단체, 지방의회의원, 민간 등을 선정해 수여하며 지방자치 발전 노력을 격려하고 우수 사례를 확산하기 위해 제정됐다.

민선 8기 김해시는 ‘꿈이 이루어지는 따뜻한 행복도시 김해’ 비전 아래 소통과 경청의 시정으로 지방자치 발전에 크게 이바지한 점을 인정받았다.

특히 전국 최초로 3대 메가이벤트(전국(장애인)체전, 동아시아문화도시, 김해방문의 해)를 동시에 개최함으로써 시너지 효과를 극대화하고 김해의 새로운 도약 기회를 마련한 점이 높이 평가됐다.

이와 함께 대성동고분군 유네스코 세계유산 등재, 지역맞춤형 전략산업 구축으로 지역산업 체질 개선, 주민참여포인트제 시행, 주민자치회 운영 개선, 공원묘원 플라스틱 조화 근절 등 다양한 제도 정비로 시민 참여와 지방자치 기반을 강화한 점이 돋보였다.
