성남시, 아동권리옹호관과 정책제안 논의

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=성남 이현준기자] 성남시는 ‘제5기 성남시 아동참여단, 제3차 정기회의’를 실시한다.

오는 10월 5일 시청 3층 한누리에서 아동권리옹호관과 정책제안을 논의하는 자리를 갖는다.

아동권리옹호관이란 독립적인 지위를 갖고 아동의 입장을 옹호해 줄 수 있는 대변인으로 성남시는 아동권리, 사회(아동)복지, 법률 전문가 5명을 아동권리 옹호관으로 위촉하여 운영하고 있다.

이번 아동참여단 정기회의에서는 앞서 아동권리 모니터링 활동을 통해 생활현장에서 아동권리 침해 사례를 찾아 해결방안을 논의한 내용을 바탕으로 정책제안을 하고, 정책제안 내용에 대하여 아동권리옹호관의 전문적인 조언을 통해 이를 구체화하는 기회를 제공하고자 마련된다.

아동참여단은 마음건강, 신체건강, 기후위기, 학습권, 미디어라는 5가지 주제에 대해 정책 제안을 하고, 아동권리옹호관은 이에 실효성있는 정책제안이 될 수 있도록 전문적인 조언을 제공한다.

제5기 성남시 아동참여단은 성남시와 협약한 경기성남아동보호전문기관에서 운영을 지원하고, 사회복지학과 재학생으로 구성된 자원봉사자들이 아동권리 서포터즈(멘토)로 참여해 아동참여단의 활동을 지원하고 있다.

성남시는 2021년 8월 30일 유니세프(UNICEF·유엔아동기금)로부터 아동친화도시 인증을 획득했으며, 아동참여단 운영을 비롯해 아동친화적 놀이터 조성, 찾아가는 팝업놀이터 운영 등 아동권리 증진을 위한 25개 전략 사업을 추진하여 2024년 12월 유니세프 상위단계 인증을 준비하고 있다.
