[브레이크뉴스경기남부=용인 이현준기자] 이상일 용인특례시장은 2일 기흥구 동백동 용인미디어센터에서 수지·죽전·동백·구성 지역 중학교 학부모 대표들과 2시간 40분 동안 간담회를 가졌다.
이날 간담회엔 4개 지역 학군에 속하는 18개 중학교 학부모 대표들과 김희정 용인교육지원청 교육장, 시와 용인교육지원청 관계자 등이 참석했다.
이상일 시장은 “지난해부터 교장 선생님과 학부모들을 따로 뵙고 학교별 사정을 듣고 최대한 도와드리기 위해 노력했다”며 “올해는 김희정 교육장님이 함께해 주셔서 훨씬 효율적인 간담회가 되고 있는데 학부모회장님들께서 그동안 생각하셨던 것들을 편안하게 말씀해 주시고 함께 해법을 모색하는 자리가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
김희정 교육장은 “지난해까지는 학부모 네트워크가 교육지원청과 연결이 되어 있었는데 올해부터 도 교육청으로 가면서 학부모 대표단을 만나기가 쉽지 않은 상황인데 지난해부터 이런 귀한 시간을 마련하고 계신 이상일 시장님 덕분에 이렇게 학부모 대표님들과 간담회를 하게 됐다”며 “오늘은 시와 교육청에서 힘을 합쳐 해결해야 하는 문제를 놓고 의견을 나누는 의미 있는 시간이 되면 좋겠다”고 말했다.
시가 학부모들로부터 사전 접수한 건의는 총 7건으로 이 가운데 4건은 시가 처리할 내용이고 나머지 3건은 교육지원청에서 처리해야 하는 내용으로 분류됐다.
이 시장과 김 교육장은 건의 내용에 대한 검토 결과를 각각 설명하고 학부모들의 추가 건의에 대해 답변하는 시간을 가졌다.
성서중 학부모 대표는 학교 정문 앞 인도 잡초 제거와 학교와 벽산아파트 사잇길 환경 개선을 요청했다.
이 시장은 “건의 접수 이후 시의 담당 부서에서 학교 정문에서부터 버스정류장까지 청소를 완료했고, 중학교와 벽산아파트 사잇길도 낙엽을 제거하는 등 환경을 개선했다는 보고를 받았다”며 “이곳에 대해선 시가 주기적으로 청소해서 깨끗한 통학로가 유지될 수 있도록 챙기겠다”고 답했다.
서원중 학부모 대표는 학교 아래 성당 앞 도로가 혼잡해 교통지도 등의 안전대책이 필요하다고 건의했다.
이 시장은 “성당 앞 도로에 불법주정차 금지 현수막을 설치했고, 이동형 불법주정차 단속 장비를 가동해 학교 주변 단속을 강화하도록 하겠다”고 말했다.
이현중 학부모 대표는 아이들의 통학로로 사용되는 진산마을 삼성7차 아파트 노후 인도를 정비해 줬으면 좋겠다는 의견을 전했다.
이 시장은 “학생들의 통학로로 쓰이는 인도지만 아파트 단지 안에 있는 길이어서 시가 관리할 권한이 없으므로 아파트를 관리하는 쪽에 연락해서 알려줬다"며 "사정이 좀 나아질 수 있도록 시가 협조를 요청하겠다”고 말했다.
초당중 학부모 대표는 “학교 운동장 규모를 줄이면서까지 새 교실 동을 신축했는데 누수, 에어컨 고장 등 각종 문제가 발생해 보수 공사가 이뤄졌지만 문제가 잘 해결되지 않아 신관을 뜻대로 활용하고 있지 못하는 실정"이라며 "시가 업체에 하자 보수를 제대로 하도록 촉구해 달라"고 말했다. 또 "학교 인근에 토리공원이 있는데 공원 내엔 CCTV가 있지만 외곽에 사각지대엔 CCTV가 없다 보니 이곳이 학생들의 일탈 장소로 이용되는 실정이다. 시에서 CCTV를 설치해 주셨으면 좋겠다”고 했다.
