충남 태안군이 문화체육관광부 주관 ‘생활체육시설 확충 지원’ 공모에 선정돼 국비 30억 원을 확보하면서 체육시설 건립에 청신호가 들어왔다.
태안군에 따르면 최근 문화체육관광부가 발표한 ‘생활체육시설 확충지원’ 공모 결과 근흥면 실내체육관 건립 사업이 국민체육센터 ‘시니어 친화형’ 분야에 최종 선정, 사업 추진에 탄력이 붙게 됐다고 4일 밝혔다.
문체부의 생활체육시설 확충 지원 사업은 국민체육진흥기금을 활용해 국민 누구나 거주지 가까이에서 쉽게 이용할 수 있도록 국민체육센터 건립 및 공공 체육시설 개·보수를 추진하는 사업으로 체육활동 편의를 높이는 데 목적이 있다.
지난 8~9월 정량평가 및 정성평가를 거쳐 지난달 말 최종 결과가 발표됐으며, 군은 고령인구가 많은 지역 특성을 고려해 고령층 스포츠활동 증진과 육체적·정신적 건강 증진에 효과가 높은 파크골프장을 함께 조성한다는 점을 부각해 공모 선정의 결실을 안았다.
