[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 7일 오전 11시 김해시청에서 2018년부터 우호도시로 친선관계를 이어온 튀르키예 초룸시와 친선관계를 자매도시로 격상하는 협정을 체결했다.
자매결연식에는 홍태용 김해시장과 하릴 이브라힘 아쉬근 초룸시장, 안선환 김해시 의장과 초룸시의회 의원 등 양 시와 시의회 관계자들이 참석했다.
‘철의 왕국 가야’ 김해시와 ‘철기 문명의 발상지 히타이트 제국’의 수도 하투샤 유적지가 있는 초룸시는 고대 철기 문화라는 연결고리로 2018년 4월 우호도시 협약을 맺었다.
특히 자매도시로 결연식을 맺은 김해시와 초룸시, 국립김해박물관과 튀르키예 문화관광부가 공동 주관하는 튀르키예 특별전 ‘히타이트’ 개막식이 열린 날로 의미를 더한다.
