CJ제일제당이 3년 연속으로 동반성장지수에서 ‘최우수’ 등급을 획득하며 ‘최우수 명예기업’로 선정됐다. CJ제일제당은 협력 중소기업에 대한 다양한 지원 프로그램을 통해 높은 평가를 받았다.
CJ제일제당은 동반성장지수에서 3년 연속 ‘최우수’ 등급을 받으며 ‘최우수 명예기업’으로 선정됐다고 10월 8일 밝혔다.
동반성장지수는 대기업의 동반성장 수준을 평가해 계량화한 지표로 2011년부터 동반성장위원회(동반위)가 발표하고 있다.
동반위는 이날 서울 서초구 JM메리어트 호텔서울에서 제80차 동반성장위원회를 개최하고 대기업, 중견기업 218개 사에 대한 '2023년도 동반성장지수 평가 결과'를 발표했다. 행사에는 이달곤 동반성장위원장과 이번에 제7기 동반성장위원회 위원으로 선임된 CJ제일제당 강신호 부회장 등이 참석했다.
CJ제일제당에 따르면 협력 중소기업에 실질적인 도움을 줄 수 있는 다양한 동반성장 프로그램을 운영해 공정거래협약 이행평가와 동반성장 종합평가에서 모두 높은 평가를 받았다고 한다. 특히, 지난해부터 40개 협력사를 대상으로 운영한 ESG/생산성 향상 컨설팅과 20개 협력사에게 지원한 산업안전 활동 강화 등 경영지원제도를 통해 지난해보다 높은 점수를 받았다는 설명이다.
CJ제일제당은 협력사의 안정적인 경영 활동을 위해 약 200억 원을 무이자로 대여해주는 금융 지원인 프로그램도 운영하고 있다. '직접 자금지원 제도'와 560억 원 상당의 자금을 저리로 지원하는 '상생펀드'를 운영해 동반성장지수에서 긍정적 평가를 받았다.
아울러 민간기업 최초로 대기업 상생협력형 내일채움공제를 도입해 협력사 임금 격차 해소에도 기여하고 있다. 지난해 26개 협력사에 근무 중인 100명이 내일채움공제 제도를 이용했다.
CJ제일제당 관계자는 “‘사업보국(事業報國)’ 경영철학을 토대로 중소 협력사들과의 상생을 위한 노력을 계속하고 있다”며, “앞으로도 동반성장 생태계 조성을 위해 지속가능경영(ESG)을 더욱 가속화할 것”이라고 밝혔다.

CJ CheilJedang has been named the 'Best Honored Company' for the third consecutive year, earning the 'Best' rating in the Shared Growth Index. CJ CheilJedang received high praise for its various support programs for cooperative SMEs.
CJ CheilJedang announced on Oct. 8 that it has been named the “Best Honored Company” for the third consecutive year, receiving the “Best” rating in the Shared Growth Index.
The Shared Growth Index is an index that quantifies the level of shared growth among large companies and has been published by the Korea Council for Shared Growth since 2011.
The committee held its 80th meeting at the JM Marriott Hotel Seoul in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and announced the results of the 2023 Shared Growth Index for 218 large and mid-sized companies. The event was attended by Chairman Lee Dal-gon and CJ CheilJedang Vice Chairman Kang Shin-ho, who was appointed as the seventh member of the Shared Growth Committee.
According to CJ CheilJedang, it received high marks in both the Fair Trade Agreement Implementation Evaluation and the Overall Shared Growth Evaluation for operating various shared growth programs that provide practical help to its SMEs. In particular, the company explained that it received higher scores than last year through management support programs such as ESG/productivity improvement consulting for 40 suppliers and enhanced occupational safety activities for 20 suppliers.
CJ CheilJedang also operates the Financial Supporters Program, which provides interest-free loans of about KRW 20 billion to suppliers for their stable management activities. CJ CheilJedang received a positive rating in the Shared Growth Index for its 'Direct Funding System' and 'Win-Win Fund' that provides low-interest loans worth KRW 56 billion.
In addition, the company is the first private company to introduce the Tomorrow's Fill-in Credit, which contributes to closing the wage gap between suppliers and employees. Last year, 100 people working at 26 suppliers used the Tomorrow's Filling Credit program.
An official from CJ CheilJedang said, “We are continuing our efforts for mutual growth with small and medium-sized suppliers based on our ‘Business Reporting’ management philosophy.” “We will further accelerate our sustainability management (ESG) to create an ecosystem for shared growth,” he added.
