[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 지난 9일 김해종합운동장에 위치한 김해시립김영원미술관의 문화체전을 위한 특별전을 성황리에 개최했다고 11일 밝혔다.
이번 특별전은 11일 개막하는 전국(장애인) 체전을 문화체전으로 승화시키기 위해 지난 9일부터 30일까지 화합을 주제로 펼쳐지며, 전국 17개 시·도의 기성·청년·장애인 작가 작품, 동아시아 조각페스티벌 한·일·중 조각작품과 국내 대표 현대 조각가 작품을 비롯해 총 134명의 작가가 참여한 243점의 작품이 전시된다.
문화체전을 위한 특별전 개막식에는 김해시 세종대왕동상 원형과 다수의 작품을 기증해 주신 김영원 작가, 한국조각가협회 김정희 이사장, 디스에이블드 김현일 대표, 한국미술협회 김해지부 및 전시에 참여한 다수의 작가 등 전국 미술관계자 등이 참석하여 자리를 빛냈다.

김정희 이사장은 “우리나라를 대표하는 기성작가, 문화예술의 미래를 이끌어갈 청년작가, 장애인 작가들의 작품 전시로 전국 어디에서도 보지 못한 화홥의 장을 마련했다”며 김해시의 문화체전을 위한 헌신에 찬사를 보냈다.
이후 홍태용 김해시장, 안선환 시의장의 축사에 이어 전시를 기획한 한국조각가협회 이후창 사무국장을 중심으로 전시에 대한 해설을 진행했으며, 기성작가의 전시해설뿐 아니라 장애인·청년작가들도 전시해설에 참여하여 눈길을 끌었다. 특히, 세종대왕동상 원형 전시설명은 김영원 작가의 특별 전시설명으로 진행되어 특별전에 대한 의미를 더했다.
디스에이블드 김현일 대표는 “화합을 주제로 연 이번 특별전은 장애인 작가들에게 큰 의미가 있으며, 장애예술인들의 창작 활성화에 기여할 것”이라고 말했다.
개막식이 끝난 이후에도 김영원 작가와 장애인·청년작가 총 30명이 참여한 좌담회를 열어 조각작품 뿐 아니라 작가에게 궁금한 점에 대해 질문하는 등 자유롭게 작가와 소통하는 장을 마련했다.
김영원 작가는 “외부 환경에 영향 받지 자신을 믿고 자기 일을 하면 좋은 작품이 나온다”고 젊은 작가들을 격려했다.
