[브레이크뉴스경기남부=수원 이현준기자] 경기도경제과학진흥원은 ‘2024년 제2차 경기도 CRO기업 현장 소통 간담회’를 개최했다.
지난 10일, 광교테크노밸리 바이오센터에서 현장 중심의 소통을 통해 도내 CRO 기업들이 직면한 애로사항을 공유하고 개선이 필요한 사항을 함께 논의했다.
또한 작년 5월 열린 1차 현장 간담회 때 제안된 사항들의 후속조치 이행 및 향후 신규사업으로 개선될 수 있는 다양한 방안을 모색했다.
경과원은 1차 간담회 제안사항을 반영해 전문인력 양성, 바이오 생태계 확대, 스타트업 육성 등의 후속 조치를 실행했다. 'GG 바이오허브 에듀 스테이션'과 'GG 바이오허브 랩 스테이션' 구축, 산학연병관 연계 포럼 개최 등을 통해 경기도 바이오 산업의 경쟁력 강화에 힘쓰고 있다.
이날 간담회에는 강성천 경과원장을 비롯해 경기도 내 주요 ㈜우정바이오, ㈜코아스템켐온 등 CRO 기업 10개사가 참석했다.
간담회에서는 ▲국내 CRO 시장 현황 ▲국내외 경쟁력 확보 방안 ▲전문 인력 양성 ▲국내 CRO 산업 역량 강화 등 다양한 주제가 다뤄졌다.
천병년 (주)우정바이오 대표는 “경기도의 지역적 특성을 살려 비임상 CRO 기업들의 다양한 분야를 고려한 맞춤형 지원 프로그램이 필요하다”며 “각 기업의 성장 단계에 맞는 지원이 이뤄진다면 경기도 CRO 바이오산업의 경쟁력이 한층 높아질 것”이라고 말했다.
경과원은 제안된 기업들의 의견을 실제 정책으로 구현하기 위해 현재 운영 중인 지원 사업과 신규사업에 적극 반영할 계획이다.
강성천 경과원장은 “도내 CRO 기업들이 국내외 경쟁력을 높일 수 있도록 다양한 프로그램을 도입할 예정”이라며 “특히 전문 인력 양성과 기술 개발 지원, 해외 진출 컨설팅 등을 강화해 경기도 CRO 기업들의 성장에 필요한 지원을 적시에 제공할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 전했다.
한편 경과원은 도내 CRO 기업 지원을 위한 현장 소통의 기회를 지속적으로 확대해 나갈 계획이다.
