세종특별자치시의회가 11일 의정실에서 세종시와 자매도시 체결을 위해 방한한 불가리아 소피아시 대표단(소피아시 부시장 이반 고이체프)을 접견하고 양 도시 간 협력 방안에 대한 논의 시간을 가졌다고 전했다.
이번 방문은 지난 제91회 임시회에서 가결된 '세종특별자치시-소피아시 자매도시 체결동의안'에 따른 것으로 문화, 경제, 청소년, 교육, 지능형 도시 등 다양한 분야에서 상호 교류 협력을 통한 공동 발전방안을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다.
양 도시의 우호 증진을 위해 마련된 환담장에는 세종시의회 임채성 의장과 행정복지위원회 김현미 위원장 및 김영현 부위원장, 행정복지위원회 소속 김충식 의원, 상병헌 의원, 여미전 의원, 이순열 의원, 홍나영 의원을 비롯해 세종시를 찾은 이반 고이체프 소피아시 부시장, 엘레나 코드제히코바 국회 협력 및 의전과장 등이 참석했다.
세종시의회 임채성 의장은 “국제협력 단계가 우호도시에서 자매도시로 격상된 만큼, 이반 고이체프 부시장께서 우리 의회를 방문해 주신 것을 계기로 우리 의회도 과거와 현재가 공존하는 도시인 소피아시를 방문해 더 넓고 깊은 협력의 기회가 마련되길 희망한다”고 말했다.
이반 고이체프 소피아시 디지털 혁신 경제발전 부시장은 ”의회 구성과 일처리 방식 등 효율적인 의회 운영 방안을 공유하고 양 기관의 우호 관계를 지속하기 위해 향후 세종시의회 대표단을 초청하고 싶다“고 화답했다고 세종시의회가 전했다.
소피아시 대표단은 환담 이후 세종시의회 본회의장을 둘러보고 전자회의시스템 등 본회의 운영 방식에 대한 설명을 청취했다.
