[브레이크뉴스경기남부=화성 이현준기자] 화성시는 미래 융복합 교통 인프라 구축 및 서비스 추진을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다.
16일 한국도로교통공단 본사에서 신호운영 전문기관인 도로교통공단과 4개 지방자치단체와 ICT 융복합 교통 인프라 협의체 구성을 통해 실시간 신호정보 제공 서비스의 전국적인 확대를 위해 상호 협력을 위해 마련됐다.
협의체에서 화성시는 신호정보 수집을 위한 첨단 기반시설 구축과 관리를 수행하며, 도로교통공단은 전국 신호정보 연계 시스템의 유지관리와 서비스 운영 및 개발을 위한 기술을 지원하게 된다.
시는 우선 금년 내 6개소에 서비스를 시범 운영한 후, 향후 주요 교차로로 확대할 예정이다.
시는 실시간 신호정보 제공 서비스를 통해 운전자가 교차로에서 신호정보를 내비게이션으로 미리 받을 수 있게 되어 과속을 하거나 차량 꼬리물기를 하는 등의 위험 운전을 줄일 수 있어 교통안전 증진에 기여할 것으로 기대하고 있다.
