세종시교육청이 세이브더칠드런 중부지역본부로부터 쌀 10kg 1,500포대를 전달받아 도움이 필요한 가정과 아동 복지 시설 등에 배부했다고 23일 밝혔다.
지난 22일 세종교육청 학교지원본부에서 열린 쌀 전달식에는 이미자 학교지원본부장, 심혜설 세이브더칠드런 중부지역본부장 등 관계자 10여 명이 참석했다.
쌀 지원 사업은 지난 7월에 학교지원본부 출범 이후 학생 복지 지원기관과 체결한 업무 협약의 성과 중 하나다.
이번 사업은 세이브더칠드런 중부지역본부와 학교지원본부가 함께 세종시 학생들을 위해 발굴하고 NH투자증권이 쌀 1,500포대를 후원해 이루어졌다.
전달받은 쌀은 지원이 필요한 세종지역 초·중·고 학생 총 155명에게 최대 4포대씩 총 561포대를 전달됐다.
이와함께 세종 지역 내 아동 복지 시설 등에도 939포대를전달하는 등 도움이 필요한 곳에 나눔을 실천했다.
심혜설 세이브더칠드런 중부지역본부장은 “어려움을 겪고 있는 가정과 아이들에게 조금이나마 따스한 손길을 전할 수 있어서 뜻깊은 시간이었다.”며 “앞으로도 학생들이 희망을 잃지 않고 꿈을 키워나갈 수 있도록 적극적으로 협력하겠다.”고 말했다.
이미자 학교지원본부장은 “우리 아이들이 꿈을 잃지 않고 성장할 수 있도록 따뜻한 관심과 지원을 보내주신 세이브더칠드런 중부지역본부, NH투자증권, 시청, 학교 등 관계자 여러분께 감사드린다.”며, “앞으로도 아이들이 자시만의 꿈을 펼칠 수 있도록 계속해서 지켜봐 주시고 응원해주시기를 부탁드린다.”고 말했다.
