[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시가 환경부 주관 2024년 폐기물처리사업 및 폐기물처리시설 설치·운영실태 평가에서 폐기물처리사업 분야와 폐기물처리시설 분야 모두 ‘우수’인 A등급을 받았다고 2일 밝혔다.

2개 분야 모두 수상권에 들어간 지자체는 전국에서 김해시가 유일하다.

전국 지자체를 대상으로 평가를 실시한 폐기물처리사업 분야는 △생활폐기물 발생량 △생활폐기물 관리예산 자립률 △최종 처분율 △순환자원 이용률 등을 평가해 우수 지자체를 선정했다.

김해시는 폐기물처리사업 분야 평가항목 4개 중 3개 항목에서 만점을 받아 인구 20만명 이상 지자체 중 2등으로 우수기관에 선정됐다.

또 전국 소각시설 162개소를 대상으로 평가를 실시한 폐기물처리시설 분야는 △환경성 △기술성 △경제성 △안전성 △거버넌스 등을 평가해 우수시설을 선정했다.

김해시는 안전성과 거버넌스 항목에서 만점을 받아 김해시자원순환시설이 주변영향권 주민들과 적극 소통하며 안전하게 관리되고 있는 것으로 나타나 전국 2위인 우수상을 수상했다.
