[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시도시개발공사가 관리하는 진영공설운동장 일원 체육시설이 장애인 스포츠 선수들의 전지훈련 장소로 각광 받고 있다.
3일 공사에 따르면 장애인 휠체어 럭비 국가대표 20명이 지난달 25~29일 이곳을 찾아 경기력 향상 강화훈련을 했다.
장애인 휠체어 럭비 국가대표팀은 공사가 보유한 다양한 체육시설을 활용한 강도 높은 훈련과 훈련파트너(경남·부산럭비대표) 선수들과의 교류전 등으로 구슬땀을 흘렸다. 또 경남도 장애인 양궁 대표팀과 휠체어 럭비 대표팀이 매주 훈련 중이다.
진영공설운동장은 인조잔디 축구장과 휠체어가 달릴 수 있는 트랙뿐만 아니라 2개 실내체육관, 체력단련실, 수영장 등 다양한 시설을 갖추고 있으며 지난 10월 2024년 전국(장애인)체전 축구, 세팍타크로, 장애인 유도 경기를 성공적으로 치러냈다.
도시개발공사 관계자는 “다양한 시설을 갖춘 진영공설운동장 일원에서 내실 있는 전지훈련을 진행해 좋은 성과를 거두길 바란다”면서 “앞으로도 장애인들이 안전하고 편안한 환경에서 시민들과 함께 신체활동을 할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
