AKU교수협회측은 12월24일 보도자료에서 “AKU교수협회와 전쟁기념사업회가 공동주관하고 한국글로벌피스재단이 후원하는 『코리안드림과 통일한국을 향한 남북통합 추진전략』(서울: GDC Media) 출판기념 학술세미나를 12월 26일 오전 10시 전쟁기념관 이병형 홀에서 개최한다. 박성기·정경영·최용호·구필현·박동순·안찬일·조병현 박사가 공동 집필한 이 책은 통일한국의 비전을 제시하면서 통일 실현을 위한 남북한 체제, 외교안보, 경제, 군사, 사회문화, 군사, 국토통합 추진전략을 모색하고 실행 추진 로드맵을 제안했다”고 알렸다.
이 자료에서 “통일 환경은 암울하다. 한국은 진영 간 갈등심화, 인구절벽, 경기침체가 심각하다. 북한은 대한민국을 교전 중인 적대국으로 규정, 대사변을 독려하고 있다. 미·중 간 한반도 패권경쟁이 치열하다”면서 “통일에 대한 인식의 대전환이 요구된다. 이 모든 문제가 한반도 분단에 기인한다. 남북한이 미·중과 함께 불안정한 정전체제를 항구적 평화체제로 전환하면 통일은 실현된다. 통일을 이룩하면 통합의 정치가 가능하고, 인구문제가 해결되며, 경제가 폭발적으로 성장한다. 한반도에서 전쟁의 위험이 사라지며, 동북아의 갈등구조를 협력·공존 질서로 전환하게 된다”고 강조했다.
이어 “그동안 통일에 대한 담론은 많았다. 그러나 어떤 새로운 나라를 창조할 것인가 하는 비전을 갖고 어떻게 통합할 것인가에 대한 논의는 많지 않았다. 이 책은 홍익인간 사상이 구현되는 통일한국의 비전을 제시하고, 자유평화 통일외교안보전략, 북한 남침 시 조기 반격 승리 전략, 북한 급변사태 시 안정화 통일 실현전략을 모색하였다. 다차원적으로 정치체제, 경제협력, 군사적 신뢰구축·운용적·구조적 군비통제, 사회문화, 국토통합 추진전략을 강구하고, 신라·고려·베트남·독일·예멘 분단국의 통일 시사점과 통일한국 건설 실행 추진로드맵을 제안했다”고 덧붙였다.
Academic Seminar Commemorating the Publication of Strategy for Inter-Korean Integration towards Korean Dream and A Vision for a Unified Korea

On 24 December, 2024, the Action for Korea United Professors’ Association (AKUPA) announced in a press release that an academic seminar co-hosted by the AKUPA and the War Memorial of Korea Association and sponsored by the Korea Global Peace Foundation, will be held commemorating the publication of Strategies for Inter- Korean Integration toward Korean Dream and a Unified Korea (Seoul: GDC Media, Dec 2024) at 10:00 AM on December 26 at the Lee Byung-hyung Hall of the War Memorial of Korea. This book, co-authored by Drs. Park Sung-gi, Chung Kyung-young, Choi Yong-ho, Koo Pil- hyun, Park Dong-soon, Ahn Chan-il, and Cho Byung- hyun, presents a vision for a unified Korea and explores strategies for inter-Korean systems integration, diplomacy and security, economy, military, socio-cultural, and territorial integration to achieve unification, and proposes a roadmap for implementing them.”
The AKUPA states that “The environment for unification is gloomy. Korea is suffering from deepening conflicts between factions, a population cliff, and serious economic recession. North Korea defines South Korea as an enemy country at war and is encouraging North Korean people to wage civil war. The U.S.-China hegemony rivalry on the Korean Peninsula is fierce.”
The AKUPA said. “A transformation in perception of unification is imperative. All of these problems are originated from the division of the Korean Peninsula. If South and North Korea, together with the U. S. and China, transform the unstable armistice structure into a permanent peace regime, unification will come into a reality. If unification is achieved, politics of integration will be possible, population problems will be solved, and the economy will grow explosively. The risk of war on the Korean Peninsula will disappear, and the conflict structure in Northeast Asia will be transitioned into an order of cooperation and coexistence.”
The AKUPA continued, “There has been much discourse on unification so far. However, there has not been much discussion on how to integrate and unify with a vision of what kind of a new unified country to create.
