브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 29일 제주항공 여객기가 전남 무안국제공항에 착륙하던 중 추락하는 사고가 발생했다.
제주항공 및 전남소방본부 등에 따르면 이날 오전 9시3분경 전남 무안군 망운면 무안국제공항 활주로에서 태국 방콕발 무안행 제주항공 7C2216편 여객기가 동체 착륙 도중 굉음을 내며 미끄러지다 활주로와 맞닿은 공항 외벽을 들이받았다.
해당 여객기는 랜딩기어가 제 때 펼쳐지지 않아 착륙을 두 차례 시도했으나 실패했고, 마지막으로 동체 착륙을 시도하다 활주로를 벗어나 미끌어지며 외벽 담장을 정면 충돌한 것으로 파악된다.
이 사고로 동체가 두동강이 나면서 큰 불길이 치솟았고, 내부 승객들이 대거 밖으로 튕겨져 나오기도 했다. 이외 기체의 잔해가 활주로에 어지럽게 흩어져 나갔다.
해당 기체는 189좌석을 갖춘 보잉사의 B737-8AS로 2009년 8월 제작됐다. 비행기 기령은 15년된 비교적 신형으로 분류된다.
소방당국은 181명의 탑승객 중 2명의 생존자를 구조했다. 생존자는 모두 승무원으로 전해졌고, 이들은 병원으로 옮겨져 치료를 받고 있다. 이외 나머지 탑승객들은 모두 사망한 것으로 추정하고 있다.
탑승객은 태국인 2명을 제외하고 모두 한국인인 것으로 전해졌다.
