농협중앙회(회장 강호동)는 11월 폭설로 피해를 입은 농업인의 원활한 피해복구를 위해 10억 원의 재해예산을 추가 지원한다고 12월 30일 밝혔다.
이번 추가 지원은 폭설로 파손된 비닐하우스 및 축사 복구를 포함하며, 피해 상황에 따라 긴급 복구 자재와 인력도 지속적으로 제공할 예정이다.
농협은 지난 12월 18일에도 폭설 피해복구를 위해 무이자 재해자금 1,380억 원과 하우스 필름 할인공급, 축사 붕괴시설 철거를 위한 중장비 등을 지원한 바 있다. 이번 추가 지원은 피해 농가의 부담을 줄이고 복구 속도를 높이기 위한 후속 조치다.
강호동 회장은 “117년 만의 11월 폭설로 농업인들의 피해가 커서 안타깝다”며, “폭설 피해로 어려움을 겪고 있는 농가들이 신속하게 일상으로 복귀할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
Nonghyup to provide 1 billion won in additional support for recovery from November's heavy snowfall
The Nonghyup Central Association (Chairman Kang Ho-dong) announced on the 30th that it will provide an additional KRW 1 billion in disaster assistance to farmers affected by November's heavy snowfall to ensure a smooth recovery.
The additional support will cover the restoration of greenhouses and livestock sheds damaged by the heavy snowfall, and will also continue to provide emergency restoration materials and manpower depending on the damage situation.
On 18 December, Nonghyup had previously provided KRW 138 billion in interest-free disaster funds, discounted house films, and heavy equipment for the demolition of collapsed livestock barns to help farmers recover from heavy snowfall. This additional support is a follow-up measure to reduce the burden on affected farmers and speed up recovery.
‘We are saddened by the heavy snowfall in November, the heaviest in 117 years,’ said Kang Ho-dong, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Company. ’We will do our best to help farmers who are struggling to get back to normal as soon as possible.’
