[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 세계습지의 날을 기념해 오는 25~26일 화포천습지 일원에서 ‘독수리 친구되기 생태축제’를 개최한다고 16일 밝혔다.
이번 축제는 화포천습지를 찾은 겨울철새가 굶주리지 않고 겨울을 나도록 먹이를 제공하고 시민들에게 습지 보전의 중요성을 알리고자 김해시가 주최하고 효성그룹이 후원해 마련된다.
김해시와 효성그룹은 지난해 12월 1일 화포천습지 생물다양성 보전을 위한 업무협약을 체결하고 화포천습지 겨울철새 먹이주기 지원사업을 추진하고 있다.
축제에 앞서 23일에는 부산에서 탈진한 상태로 구조된 독수리 2마리를 자연으로 방사하는 기념식을 개최한다.
생태축제는 이틀간 오전 10시부터 오후 4시까지 철새 탐조단 활동과 함께 독수리와 관련된 체험공간, 화포천습지 사진전이 마련되는 것을 비롯해 청소년 환경백일장 수상작이 화포천 아우름길에 전시된다.
철새 탐조단은 화포천습지 생태해설사와 함께 화포천을 걸으며 겨울철새에 대해 알아보고 먹이주기 체험을 하는 특별 프로그램으로 예약제로 진행되며 화포천습지 생태공원 누리집에서 17일 오후 2시부터 예약할 수 있다.
독수리 관련 체험공간에서는 △독수리 컵 만들기 △독수리 암워머 만들기 △독수리 팔찌 만들기 △독수리 부리 마스크 만들기 △독수리 윙텍 열쇠고리 만들기 △독수리 스티커 컬러링 △독수리 키링 만들기 등 체험부스와 △독수리 비행기 날리기 대회 △독수리 되어보기 포토존 등 다양한 프로그램이 진행된다.
이용규 환경정책과장은 “독수리뿐만 아니라 천연기념물과 멸종위기 야생동물이 서식하는 화포천습지의 생물다양성 보존이 필요하다”며 “화포천습지 방문객들이 자연과 생태의 중요성을 느끼는 기회가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
