경기북부보훈지청(지청장 손순욱)은 2025년 국내 보훈사적지 1차 탐방사업을 22일 ‘광복 80, 독립 영웅을 기억하는 길’이라는 주제로 올해 광복 80주년을 맞이하여 의정부시 청소년수련관 보훈외교단 학생 등 80여 명이 독립유공자 후손과 간담회를 하고 망우문화역사공원의 유관순 열사 묘(이태원 묘지 합장 묘역)에서 참배하고 국립대한민국 임시정부기념관을 견학하는 일정으로 이뤄졌다.

특히 유관순 열사의 종손(從孫)인 유혜경 씨와 보훈 아너스클럽 홍석환 위원, 의정부시 광복회의 독립유공자 후손(남주우, 권현)이 학생들과 소통의 시간을 보내고, 망우역사문화공원 내 유관순 열사 묘 참배에 함께하여 그 의미를 더했다.

올해의 탐방 사업은 대한민국의 정신적 근간이자 미래를 이끄는 핵심가치인 독립정신을 학생들이 계승하고, 보훈문화 확산을 통해 국민통합의 디딤돌이 될 수 있도록 하는 모두의 보훈을 실천하기 위해서 진행된다.
이번 1차 보훈사적지 탐방을 다녀온 보훈외교단 학생들은 ‘광복 80주년을 맞아 유관순 열사를 비롯한 독립유공자 후손, 보훈 아너스클럽 위원을 직접 만나 이야기를 나눌 기회가 있어 좋았고, 유관순 열사 묘소 참배 활동도 감명 깊어 앞으로도 이런 기회가 있으면 적극적으로 참여하겠다.’라고 밝혔다.
