[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 주체적 존엄한 삶의 마무리를 할 수 있는 지역 내 인프라 형성을 위해 찾아가는 사전연명의료의향서 상담실을 확대 운영한다고 13일 밝혔다.
2016년에 제정된 연명의료결정법에 따른 ‘사전연명의료의향서’는 19세 이상 성인이 향후 자신이 임종과정에 있는 환자가 되었을 때를 대비해 연명의료중단 등 결정 및 호스피스에 관한 의사를 직접 문서로 작성하는 것이다.
찾아가는 상담실 운영은 오는 21일부터 시행하며 대동면 보건지소, 상동면보건지소, 생림면 보건지소에 매달 셋째주 금요일 오전까지 운영할 예정이다.
시 보건복지부 지정기관으로는 김해시보건소, 김해시 서부보건소, 김해시 노인종합복지관, 현담한의원 총 4곳이 운영되고 있으며 찾아가는 상담실은 신규 3곳 포함 총 6곳이 운영 될 예정이다.
또한 김해시에서는 호스피스ㆍ웰다잉 문화조성사업의 일환으로 사전연명의료의향서 시민홍보와 등록에 주력하여 2024년 연말 기준 2만명을 돌파하는 성과를 이뤘다.
김해시 관계자는 "이번 보건지소 찾아가는 사전연명의료의향서 시행으로 접근성이 떨어지는 초고령 지역까지 사전연명의료의향서 등록이 활성화 되어 존엄하고 편안한 생애말기 보장을 기대할 수 있게 됐다"고 말했다.
