이번 토론회는 조국혁신당 김재원 의원(비례대표, 국회 문화체육관광위원회)과 문화체육관광부가 공동 주최·주관했으며, 최근 연이어 역대 최대 매출액과 수출액을 달성한 콘텐츠 산업에 대한 국가적 지원 확대를 모색해 한국경제의 신성장 동력으로 삼아야 한다는 목소리가 반영된 긴급 토론회로서 콘텐츠 산업의 혁신과 지속 가능성을 위한 정책금융 확대, 신기술 기반 구조 전환, 입법 과제를 모색하는 자리로 함께 마련되었다.

이어 용호성 문화체육관광부 제1차관은 “콘텐츠산업은 창의성과 기술이 결합된 고부가가치 산업으로, 정부도 투자·금융 ·법제 전반의 정비를 통해 뒷받침하겠다” 고 밝혔다.
