전북자치도 익산시가 올해부터 6개년 계획으로 깨끗하고 안전한 수돗물을 공급하기 위해 2030년까지 노후 상수관을 정비한다.
익산시는 금강 급수구역인 평화동과 마동ㆍ동산동 등 구도심 일원을 대상으로 '신규 노후 상수도 정비사업'을 본격 추진한다고 9일 밝혔다.
금강 급수구역은 노후관 비율이 높고 유수율이 상대적으로 낮은 지역으로 이번 정비사업을 통해 상수도 현대 사업과 연계해 유수율을 85% 이상으로 유지한다는 계획이다.
정비사업이 완료되면 연간 310만 톤의 누수를 추가로 줄일 수 있을 것으로 분석했다.
특히 익산시 전체 유수율을 10% 이상 높여 연간 540만 톤의 누수 저감 및 54억 원의 비용 절감이 가능할 것으로 전망된다.
익산시는 올해 사업 착수를 위한 기본 실시설계 용역이 완료되면 환경부 사전 기술 검토 절차를 거쳐 대상지 및 총사업비를 최종 확정할 예정이다.
